Founder and Chief Media Correspondent: Rafid Rahman

Rafid is a medical student at the University of Toledo College of Medicine where he was accepted through the MedStart early assurance program. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago Honors College and double majored in Anthropology and Biological Sciences.

He has conducted research at Rush University Medical Center, University of Illinois College of Medicine, and University of Nebraska Medical Center. These opportunities have led him to be an Evergrande Scholar at Harvard Medical School.

During college, he was the founder and president of College of Cycling – a bicycle club that was featured on CBS News for developing a unique model to deliver food to a local homeless shelter. Rafid was also the president of the New Life Volunteering Society, an organization that offered free tutoring services to over 40 underserved Chicago Public School students every semester. He was also the Treasurer for an environmental group called EcoCampus.

Realizing that mentorship is the cornerstone to success, Rafid has started MedSpeak, a YouTube channel that gives insight into the journey of medicine for high school, college, and medical students.
